TIGERS FINISHING THE SEASON STRONG

Memphis TIGER 12s are finishing the season strong.  The tigers bring home the championship trophy in their 4th straight TN State Championship defeating a very good Jackson Coyotes team in the NBC Hap Dumont State Tournament held in Jackson, TN, May 30 - June 1, 2008.   The following weekend, tigers take first place in the Arlington High School Gameday Baseball Bash held at First TN Fields, June 6 - 8, 2008.  June 13-15, 2008 carried the tigers back to First TN Fields to play in the Memphis TIGERS Classic.  The tigers were again successful, bringing home the championship trophy.

Then it was off to Cooperstown, NY to compete in one of the most prestigious tournaments of the year for the 12 year old division.  The TIGERS were one of 95 teams seeking the title in Week #3 of the Cooperstown Dreams Park tournament.  The tigers had some friends in Cooperstown the same week.  The Germantown Giants and the Memphis Travelers both made the trip.  All three teams made a great run showing the rest of the country what Memphis baseball is all about.  The tigers also took THE BEST Umpire to Cooperstown, Chris Britt, from Atlanta, GA.  Thanks Chris for a great time!  The tigers made it to the Elite 8 where they met the #1 seeded Florida Tsunami team.  After holding the big hitting Tsunami team for 4 innings, the Tsunami drowned the tigers with some homeruns in the 5th making a come back difficult for the TIGERS.  The tigers finished 5th overall in the 95 team pool.  CONGRATULATIONS to the GERMANTOWN GIANTS who made it all the way to the Championship game.  Also a BIG THANK YOU, to the Giants who came to our rescue when our uniforms came back from the laundry wet and smelly.  They pulled together and brought their uniforms to our field so our players could have dry, clean uniforms.  You guys are the best!!

Next up and the final tournament of the season for the TIGERS is the Super Series World Championship - Nationals beginning July 12th at First TN Fields.  Go TIGERS!!!!!!

TIGERS Finish Fall Season with Two Championships

The tigers have completed a successful fall season with two championships to their credit. With a 4-1 record at the Wooden Bat Classic at Snowden Grove, Sept 20-21, the team fought hard to pull out a victory over the Desoto Knights in the championship game.

The Fall Nationals at Snowden, Oct 6-7, proved to be a difficult weekend. Only one pool game was played due to a team having to forfeit. Going on to the championship round, the Tigers had a disappointing loss by only one run in a game decided in an extra inning. The tigers look forward to the Spring 2008, and the road to Cooperstown!

TIGERS FINISH 3rd IN USSSA MAJORS WORLD SERIES IN ATLANTA
The Memphis tigers finish 3rd in the USSSA Majors World Series in Atlanta, GA.  Opening Ceremonies were held at Turner Field where the tigers paraded around the Braves Stadium prior to the Braves vs. Cardinals game on July 22.  After 2 disappointing pool games, the tigers battled to the final day where they found themselves having to defeat an extremely good Georgia Bulldog team twice to advance to the championship game.  The tigers won the first game 4 to 3 but fell short in the second game against the Bulldogs in extra innings.  "Die" was never in the Tiger's vocabulary.  The tigers took NC State Basketball coach Jimmy V's words to heart, "Don't give up. Don't ever give up" and used it as motivation throughout the tournament.  Congratulations Tigers on a wonderful season!!!

The Memphis tiger 11s battle their way to the championship game of the 2007 NABF World Classic Tournament in Southaven, MS, where they matched up with a tough Southern Legends team from Alabama.  After a slow start, the tigers battled back in the 5th coming within 3 runs of the Legends, but that was as far as they would get.  The tigers finish runner up in the World Classic.  Congratulations to all the tigers who scrapped their way to the championship game.  Also, congrats to the 4 tigers who made the NABF All Tournament team.  Chance Donohue for an outstanding offensive display with a tournament batting average of .636 and an on base percentage of .800. Mark Bagwell whose pitching saved a tough game against the Strike Zone Stixx and pitched a no hitter against an always tough Knights Baseball team.Colton mears   with a great tournament behind the plate throwing out 4 stealers at second making it difficult for any opponent to steal second base. also had 2 wins on the mound.
